I sang this song, “Dear God” by Boyz II Men, at my high school’s baccalaureate service in 2005. The lyrics express my emotions I have as I live my life, my trials I endured & survived throughout high school along with the inner struggles I’m facing now, and to all the love, success, experiences & encounters that have shaped me as well, all attributed to God. This song speaks to me and for me.
“Dear God, it’s me again.
I am so far from where I could have been.
Dear God, I would be incomplete,
But you came and touched my life in time of need.
So I’m thanking you for all you’ve done,
And for sacrificing your only Son.
That’s why I’m writing you this letter,
To let you know that I love you.
Thank you for all that I am
And for being a friend.
Lord, my love for you will never end.
Dear God, it’s Shawn this time.
I’m so grateful for the way you’ve changed my life.
I’d give all I have, I’d just throw it all away
For a chance to walk with you through heaven’s gates.
That’s why I’m thanking you for your love and your grace.
I don’t deserve these blessings, no, no, that you give to me.
That’s why I’m writing you this letter,
To let you know that I love you.
Thank you for all that I am
And for being a friend.
Lord, my love for you will never end
(I love the Lord, He heard my cry.)
Dear God, as a humble man I come to you like a child.
Needing your knowledge your love and your guidance, Lord.
Thank you for trusting me with my own life’s decisions, God,
But I’m just a man and I don’t deserve this incredible life
That you’ve given me Jesus. I love you Lord, I love you.
Dear God, it’s me Wanya.
I’m so sorry, so sorry for living for me.
But I promise from this day on, I’m livin’ for you.
‘Cause without you my life means nothing.
That’s why I’m writing you this letter,
To let you know that I love you.
Thank you for all that I am
And for being a friend.
Lord, my love for you’ll never end.”
(The priest told us this poem during his homily at Thanksgiving mass this morning. I rearranged the phrases.)
“I’m Thankful …
… for the taxes that I pay, because it means that I am employed.
… for all the complaining I hear about the government, because it means that I have freedom of speech.
… for the mess to clean up after a party, because it means that I have been surrounded by friends [and family].
… for the clothes that fit a little too snug, because it means I have enough to eat.
… for the teen-ager who is complaining about doing dishes, because he is at home and not on the streets.
… for a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and need fixing, because it means I have a home.
… for my huge heating bill, because it means I am warm.
… for the lady behind me in church that sings off key, because it means that I can hear.
… for the parking spot at the far end of the parking lot, because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation.
… for my shadow that watches me work, because it means I am out in the sunshine.
… for weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means I have been capable of working hard.
… for the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours, because it means I am alive.”
(I have a renewed perspective on life. I hope this changes yours, too.)
Thurs. night’s feast that we all helped make: burgers, steak fries, salsa, guacamole, chips, grilled oysters, soda & wine! We’re all too full! (Taken with instagram)

- robbie coltrane (Hagrid) Glue??? GLUE?!?! hahhahahah of all the words……..LOL.

Glue, what does it do? It makes two or more things stick together. Think about why Robbie Coltrane used this word for his experience. Simply, glue creates strong bonds that will last for a long time. =D
… I didn’t realize, until now, that the imprints of Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint were made on my 20th birthday! What a coincidence! And now, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2” comes out about a week after my birthday and a Vegas/Grand Canyon trip to follow! There’s just too much excitement this summer! ELATION!
